Science blog (:

Monday: We had a snow day!!!!!!!!

Tuesday: On Tuesday we made graphs for our trait lab results. We decided which traits were dominant and which traits were recessive. The dominant traits were:
-Toung Rolling
-Mid digital finger hair
-PTC tester

The recessive traits were:
-widows peak
-dimples
-earlobe attachment
-cleft chin

Wednesday: On Wednesday, we went over our homework then a chart of the whole 7th grade. We decided which traits were dominant for the whole 7th grade and which were recessive. Then we looked at our conclusions we made from just our class data and compared them to the data of the whole 7th grade. All my conclusions were correct.

Thursday: On Thursday, we talked about little people big world, and there genes that lead to having normal sized kids and dwarfs. Then we went over what to do for our labs the next day. We had to write it down and this is what i wrote:
What we are doing is trying to predict how children will/can turn out. What we are doing is with our sperm+egg cells we figure out which traits are dominant or recessive then we decide whether mom or dad have these traits. After that we predicted all the possible outcomes of the children. Then we put all of the sperm and egg cells into the cup and pull one sperm and one egg out we record it down as trial one and then do a total of 4 trials.

Friday: On Friday we did the lab. In the begging i concluded that talkative was the more dominant trait and that my mother and fathers kids should be talkative. When i did my tests, it tured out that all of the kids should be talkative.

Lab conclusion:

In conclusion, when my parents have kids, they will most likely be talkative. I figured this out because my grandma gave my mom a talkative gene but my grandpa gave her a non-talkative gene. Then everyone on my dads side of the family was talkative. For all of the trials, we got talkative and also talkative is the dominant trait. My mom's genotypes: Tt and my dad's genotypes are: TT.
